The School of Hotel Administration provides a first-class business education in the context of the $10 trillion global hospitality industry. As a global school for a global industry, it must plan to further its reach into Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America. It must continue to recruit and support faculty from the top ranks of industry and academia. It must strengthen executive education, student leadership development, and applied research. Cornell expects to lose up to 600 faculty in the next 10 years due to a surge in retirements. Increasing faculty endowment funds is vital to the continued health of the university. Honoring Cornell's 10th president, Hunter R. Rawlings, this highly competitive program aims to bring the nation's most academically gifted students to Cornell. This program acknowledges his exceptional leadership of the university and his commitment to undergraduate education. Open to undergraduate students across all academic disciplines, the program offers each student an opportunity to work with a faculty mentor. Together they design and plan an individualized program of faculty-directed research. Rawlings Presidential Research Scholars may present their work at a variety of academic and social events. Your gift can help fund a research-support account that students may use for wages, research-related travel, limited supplies, and summer research expenses. In addition, students with need receive financial support for tuition and to reduce their student loans.

A new challenge match makes it possible for you to endow and name a scholarship with a $75,000 gift. Through the 3:1 match, challenge funds provide an additional dollar for every $3 you give. Make an online gift to Cornell Annual Fund for Hotel Administration

The Hotel School elects to earmark 100 percent of its unrestricted money for financial aid. This choice represents both an investment and a sacrifice. Students receive the assistance they require, but no resources are left in reserve when vital programs need a boost or when an unexpected opportunity arises. This is why gifts of all sizes matter year after year, and why greater giving to the Annual Fund and to scholarships will make an enormous difference. Your annual gifts affect the Hotel School by enriching the lives of its students and faculty in ways that would not be possible otherwise.

By spending its Annual Fund allotment each year on financial aid, the school improves its ability to recruit students from diverse backgrounds based on their academic and intellectual promise, not their ability to pay. Annual Fund gifts also take pressure off the Hotel School’s annual operating budget, which covers the shortfall when other sources of financial aid are exhausted. Cornell’s goal in this campaign is to double the Annual Fund to more than $30 million a year across the university. At the Hotel School, the result of success will be simple and direct: twice as many dollars directly helping students.

Term Undergraduate Scholarship

Sponsor a student for one year

You can establish a scholarship to help one student for one year with a gift of $7,500. Because of a generous challenge match, your gift will be matched on a 3:1 basis, resulting in a $10,000 gift to establish a term scholarship. All term scholarship donors will receive a profile of their student recipient for one year and be invited to the annual scholarship reception for students and their benefactors. Company matching gifts are included. Planned gifts are not eligible.
